Lunch & Learn Session: The Future of AI in Healthcare – Imagining the Future Requires Mastering the Present

Guest speaker: Gerhard Bothma, founder of InnoReadi, and Innovation Value Strategist at DAYA.

During this session we will:

  • Explore current trends, opportunities and challenges related to the use of AI in healthcare.
  • Explore some future scenarios.
  • Explore IWIB4AI`s view on important actions to take to secure a desired future for AI in healthcare.

 

Active participation by those attending is encouraged as the speaker will be applying tools and techniques to facilitate an interactive and inclusive session.

About Gerhard Bothma

Gerhard Bothma is an innovation coach, innovation manager and health economist with 20+ years’ experience in healthcare and, in particular, the medical device industry. Born and raised in South Africa, he lived and worked in the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland and, for the past 4 years, Sweden. Gerhard has a particular and strong interest in and high levels of curiosity for the digital transformation of healthcare, including but not limited to AI, and applies health economic, human-centered and behavioural design lenses when engaging with this topic. His recent projects include innovation management for an AI validation platform at Karolinska Institute, futures thinking for AI Sweden and innovation coaching for nurses from Karolinska University Hospital. He is also active within DAYA, a femtech accelerator from Gothenburg, where he supports femtech start-ups with exploring value strategies related to their innovations. Gerhard holds a Masters in digital management from Hyper Island as well as an international Masters in health economics and pharmacoeconomics from Pompeu Fabra. He is an enthusiastic endurance cyclist, bookworm, and movie fanatic.
